Teacher assignments are live! Parents will need to go online to https://powerschool.peotoneschools.org/public/. Once you are logged in under your child, look for “Grades and Attendance” to find your child’s Teacher’s Name. If you are a new student to the district or you do not have a previous account, you should have received a PowerSchool Account login information sheet from the district with your login credentials. If you do not have your login information, please contact the district registrar at 708-258-0991 x3112.
Kindergarten families will be able to sign up for Meet and Greet appointments when they go live at 2:30pm today. You can access them on the home page (news) section of the Peotone Elementary School webpage (pes.peotoneschools.org) or an email with links will be sent as well at 2:30pm. You can sign up once you know teacher assignment found in Powerschool or included in the mailed home packets for kindergarten students. Packets should be arriving over the next few days.

The random rain couldn’t ruin our special afternoon! Thank you to all the students and families that came out to Popsicles with the Principal! We had fun listening to two new stories in the library then enjoyed a Popsicle Picnic in the hallways! The rain cleared up and students had fun on the playground! I loved getting to see so many students and meeting some of our new kindergarten friends! It’s going to be a great school year!!

I just had a surprise visitor at PES! Ms. Bev from Helping Hands had to share the exciting news in person! PES raised over $4,000 in the beginning of April to Pack the Pantry with Produce all spring and summer long. Thanks to the generosity of our school community and families, Helping Hands has been able to provide fresh produce every other Wednesday on their distribution days since April until TODAY! How incredible! A HUGE thank you to Berkots for partnering with PES and Helping Hands to make this money go even farther for the families they serve.
Also, for the month of August 2023, Berkot’s in Peotone will be offering the opportunity for customers to “Round Up” their total bill for a donation to the Helping Hands food pantry!

Please join the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), the seven Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Hubs, and the Children’s Behavioral Health Transformation Initiative for virtual listening meetings about mental and behavioral health screening of students in schools.
ISBE is collaborating with the seven Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Hubs across the state to host these virtual listening sessions. A total of nine listening meetings are taking place across the state to provide an opportunity for districts and community members, including students, to offer input about mental and behavioral health screening in schools. Four weeks from today is our first day of school for our first, second, and third graders (August 23). Kindergarten students will have individual Meet and Greet appointments on August 23 and 24. Kindergarten students first day of school is August 25.
Peotone Better Picnic is cancelled tomorrow Wednesday 7/26 due to the air quality alert and chance of thunderstorms. It will not be rescheduled.
